East Orlando Engagement Shoot: Nicole and Chris

Nicole and Chris have to be one of the sweetest couples I have ever met. They are down to earth, kind and totally in love!! It was so awesome to see these two together and making themselves just laugh and laugh. We had a great time and took the “tour” of Avalon Park in East Orlando. If you havent been out this way, check out our little “town” as its grown up over the last 5 years or so, despite the downturn in the economy.

Shooting engagement photos are always so much fun. I love the slower pace, enjoy spending time getting to know the couple and all and all just totally enjoy myself. Shooting with Michele and Leo was no exception and walked all over Avalon Park just having a good time. Thanks guys and I look forward to shooting your wedding!!

Here is another couple that I booked over the phone and the first time I met them was at the engagement shoot. Shooting with them was a blast and I could tell that love is in the air. The wedding is coming up soon, October 25, to be exact and I look forward to shooting their beach side wedding!!

eShoot – Angel and Aleem

I got a couple of engagement shoots done in the last week, but forgot to post them.

The first of those are from Angel and Aleem. We shot in my favorite spot at Avalon Park, but also drove to a new destination just down the road. The problem was that we lost the sun setting behind some homes, so we jumped in the car again and tried to make it back to our original spot. The sun was sinking too fast and I made a last minute decision to jump out at a very large retention pond and finish shooting there. It turned out to be a great place to get that last bit of light… you will see this site again!!

Here are some of my favorites…

Angel had taken off her shoes when she got on the swing. After we were done shooting there, Aleem put them back on… it was such a simple gesture, but so sweet.

Engagement Shoot: Ashley & Alex

I met Ashley and Alex through a mutual friend of ours, who suggested they check out my work. They are getting married in beautiful Sanibel, Florida and I can’t wait to shoot their wedding. They brought their dogs to the shoot as they are also going to be in their wedding. This is the first time that I have had animals join a photo shoot.

Sanibel holds a special place in my heart. It was the first “real” vacation that my wife and I took when we were dating. We had such a great time and it really sealed the deal for me thinking I could spend the rest of my life with her. One of the funniest stories we have came from there, too. Apparently, Sanibel Island is one of the best places to go “shelling” on the beach. You are supposed to go at low tide, fight the crowds of people and have a good time. So, Lynne and I were pumped to go… but low tide was at something like 3am. We went to the store bought a flashlight, pail and shovel. We roll out of bed, walk to the beach (right outside our back door) and the first thing we notice is that there is NO ONE around. Hmm… first clue…. Second thing was that it was PITCH black. You couldn’t see your hand at the end of your arm!! Lynne has the flashlight and we walk out into the low tide. As Lynne spots a nice shell with the light, she yells out “Here’s one!” So, I bend down to start digging it out or just picking it up… when suddenly she spots something else in the dark and moves the flashlight to see what it is. When she does this, I cant see a darn thing and lose the shell in the darkness. We both laugh. This literally goes on the entire time… by the end of our experience she is doing it on purpose and we are laughing so hard. Its hard to put into words how awesome that night was. Its the simple things in life that are so memorable.

Keriann and Brian: Engagement Shoot

I met Keriann, Brian and her mom months and months ago after a hectic day at a car dealership. When I sat down, I instantly felt like family and have been treated like it ever since. I really cant wait till their big day comes around in May…. just kidding Keriann… I know its in April!!

We met at Avalon Park and walked around all over the place. Who could blame us… it was in the mid 70s with a slight breeze and no humidity. The sunset was awesome and these two gave me some time to “experiment” a bit. Some of those experiments went in the trash, but a couple of them I absolutely love. Thanks you guys for letting me play during our shoot. I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I do!!

Leilani & Anthony – Engagement Shoot in Avalon Park

Leilani booked me as her wedding photographer via email and phone, so we never actually met until her engagement shoot the other day. I have to say that the three of us were laughing and having a great time that I forgot I was working. It really is moments like this that remind me that I have an awesome job!! I know that sounds cheesy but I am pretty lucky.

Frances and Thadmes are another couple that got push aside by hurricane Fran. We had scheduled the original time as Fran slowed down while leaving central Florida and thought best that we should just reschedule. We had some overcast skies this time and it even look as though it might rain at one point. We stayed dry and got some great pictures in the process…

Matt and Kayla E-Shoot

I just want to say that Kayla and Matt are actually all ready married so technically this is just a portrait session. However, the scheduling had little to do with us than it did with Hurricane Fran. We rescheduled the shoot 4 or 5 times and got rained out each time… and not just rained out either. It was more of a deluge and blustery winds. So, we shot this just a few days after their wedding. So I will be posting the wedding pictures as soon as I can.

Anyway, we a good time and I hope you enjoy them!!

Paul and Bethel: Engagement Shoot

Paul and Bethel win the the award for the fastest time between contract and ngagement shoot ever!! We went to contract on Saturday and tried to shoot the engagement photos on Wednesday, but 2.5 inches of rain in just over an hour kinda of killed that idea. We rescheduled for the next evening and I crossed my fingers. Of course, those of us in Orlando know that the last couple months has been nothing more than one big thunderstorm after another and getting a day without ANY rain was just going to be impossible. Well, we made the shoot happen… armed with umbrellas for the lucky couple and trash bags for… not me, just my equipment! We didnt have to use them really… just a few moments of light drizzle is all there was.

The shoot went off without a hitch and I had a great time. Paul and Bethel make it easy to be a photographer as they do very well in front of the camera. Hope you enjoy what I captured!!

Danny and Yolanda Engagement Shoot

So the last week has been pretty darn hectic. I had a hard drive failure on Tuesday that I just today recovered from!! Thank goodness I have a great backup plan as I did not lose any data, pictures or anything. WOO HOO!! Anyway, you dont come to the blog to read about computer stuff…..

So last weekend I shoot the engagement shots for Danny and Yolanda. They are getting married in April and I cannot wait till their wedding. These two are sooo in love and the pictures just scream that. They were so much fun and when I told them they could stop kissing… well… Danny didnt want to. Talk about HOT. It was a good thing too, as it was a blistering 60 something degrees out there with a very steady breeze. Ok, all you Northerners are laughing at me…. but 60 for me is almost like what 5 degrees would be for someone in New England!

Here are some of my favorites…. I know Yolanda was looking forward to these being posted so all the girls at work could see. So this is for you Mary and Susan… I cant wait to do your engagement shoots and see if you can “one up” Yolanda!!

A Real Website Is Coming….

Above and below this post are the business cards I created, so I now have them when someone asks me for one.

On another front….last night, I commissioned bludomain.com to build me a website. They said they would have the site completed by Saturday at midnight. They just build the template/frame and I change the color, fonts, upload the photos so it will take me a couple weeks to probably tweak just right. So, stay tuned for a much more professional front end to what has been an amazing ride so far….
